Life Through The Lens – Part II – March 15 Image

I went for a short walk along the Hamilton waterfront this afternoon down at Confederation Park. It was a bit chilly and lots of darker clouds were over the lake. I happened across this lonely tree near a jumble of rocks. Seems to me to be a testament of the mood of Mother Nature.

This morning I walked down to the shore walk once again and captured a very pretty sunrise to the North East of Reykjavik. The rest of the day I wandered around the city and enjoyed the beautiful weather. For dinner I met up with the other folks from the tour and our guide. We had a very authentic Icelandic dinner and talked about the rest of our week. We are all looking forward to getting out of the city and exploring!

This morning I headed to Sam Lawrence Park in Hamilton to capture sunrise.  It was a spectacular sunrise, but my planning did not work out so well. I was facing more north than east. In addition the wind was blowing extremely hard so no matter how sturdy a tripod is, long exposures are tough to do. A valuable lesson that I know but failed to follow this morning..always know your location!

I am in Calgary for a couple of days and after work I headed downtown. I walked along the river walk for a bit but the wind had picked up and it was blisteringly cold. I glanced across the river and noticed a park on the hillside. I drove up to the park and took this shot just as some light hail was starting. Now there is a major blizzard out there!

Life Through The Lens – Part II – January 5

I am in Willingboro, New Jersey for a couple of days and today while driving around I dropped by a park along the edge of the Delaware River. I saw these gulls lined up along a fence although I think the last guy did not get the memo about which way to face! I have also decided to post a 2nd image today. I happened to see the Beverly National Cemetery and I stopped by. This is a beautiful cemetery with literally thousands of monuments dedicated to veterans of WWII and other wars. I stopped for a moment to give thanks to these fallen hero’s who gave their lives for our freedom.

Upside-Down in a Biplane!

Late this afternoon I went flying with a work colleague, Lester in his biplane. This plane was designed for aerobatic maneuvers and I can tell you it does them! Lester is a fantastic pilot and he certainly proved it! We did barrel rolls, loops and other aerobatic feats that make you wonder just why you got in the plane to begin with! I have to admit that it was a lot of fun though!Â
