September Sunrise

I awoke early this morning to rain, but decided to head down to the Burlington waterfront to meet up with other photographers in hopes of Mother Nature easing up on the rain. Well she did and although the sun did not make much of an appearance, the sky was wonderful!

Cootes Bay Sky

The sunset did not really materialize this evening down at Cootes Bay so I turned to something that I have started shooting over the last couple of years and really enjoy, long exposures. This shot was created using a Lee 10 Stop (The Big Stopper) and a Lee 3 Stop Soft Edge Graduated Neutral Density filter.

Monochromatic Yukon

I was having a look back at some images taken in the Yukon last year and I found a few that I had not really paid attention to during my initial editing. I really love the sky in this one!

Stargazing

Last night I went out to Binbrook Conservation Area with hopes of catching some of the Perseids Meteor Shower. I saw only a couple of meteors, but it was a beautiful night for looking up into the sky!

A Beautiful Evening

It felt so good to be behind the camera this evening. My hectic work schedule of late coupled with preparing to move at the end of September, has left me exhausted and with very little time to spend pursuing my passion. This evening I forced myself to head down to my favourite spot in Hamilton to photograph sunsets, Cootes Bay. And Mother Nature certainly did not disappoint!

Old Cotton Mill

I am working near Danville, Virginia over the weekend, and this afternoon I had an opportunity to spend some time walking the awesome river walk along the Dan River. There is an old, abandoned cotton mill in Danville, and with the cloudy sky, just made it look even more decrepit.
