I am pleased to announce the date for my 2 day, intensive photography workshop for 2012!
October 13 & 14, 2012 – Save the date!
This workshop will be a great learning experience for beginners, amateurs and even pros!
Day 1 – We will spend some time in the classroom covering some of the basics and going over YOUR camera. Then we will head out into the field. Hamilton has a great variety of subjects to photograph, from beautiful waterfalls, to a wonderful downtown and old buildings.
Day 2 – We will start the day off having a quick look at what everyone photographed the day before and then head back out into the field. The destination(s) have not been decided on yet. We will finish off the day back in the classroom going over some post processing basics and having a look at everyone’s day 2 images. The group will be limited to a maximum of 10 people. The cost for these 2 fun filled days of learning and capturing exciting images is only $125.
Each day will be from 9am and we will try to finish off by 5pm. Lunch is not included in the fee. We will not break for an actual lunch so please bring a bagged lunch that you can eat on the fly.
Yesterday after work I drove from Sacramento out to Point Reyes National Seashore Park. This is a beautiful area with lots of wildlife including deer, eagles and many other shore birds. I did some hiking and although the stairway to the lighthouse was closed, the views were still wonderful! I have to admit that only having my Point & Shoot with me was a bonus as I did not get any of the “wow! Nice camera..you must be able to take great pictures with it” to “Are you a magazine photographer?” and then the funniest of all “my P&S is not working, can you fix it? LOL!
Late this afternoon I went flying with a work colleague, Lester in his biplane. This plane was designed for aerobatic maneuvers and I can tell you it does them! Lester is a fantastic pilot and he certainly proved it! We did barrel rolls, loops and other aerobatic feats that make you wonder just why you got in the plane to begin with! I have to admit that it was a lot of fun though!
I am very happy to announce a new photography project! It has been 6 months since the completion of the Life Through The Lens project and I am looking forward to tackling a new endeavour!
This project will be somewhat different from the LTTL project in that it will feature images from all walks of life. Environmental images, images of people doing everyday things and going about their business. It will feature images of not only people, but places and things, the good, bad and sometimes downright ugly. It will feature local and world events, and everything else in between that I come across in my daily life.
There is no set rules for this project. There may be an image every day, or 10 a week. There may be 5 one day, and none for several days. There is also no set time limit. It will begin January 1, 2012 and end when I think it has run its course.
I hope you will accompany me on my latest journey and please always feel free to post your comments and thoughts, good or bad on the images.
Here are a few images to give you an idea of what the project will look like.
I spent a couple of days in California this week and I managed to find some time to drive up the coast to Santa Barbara. This is a very pretty area. Unfortunately the drive back was long and I did not have the time to wait for what I am sure would have been a beautiful sunset.
