Simply Breathtaking!

Back in Ushuaia, Argentina! To be honest, I have no words to describe our adventure to the Antarctic. I could use words like, “Amazing”, “Incredible”, “Wonderful” and so on, but I don’t believe they do this place justice. It is simply breathtaking. A fragile, pristine place full of wonderful wildlife, landscapes and incredible beauty. A place I won’t soon forget. A place that needs to be protected in every way. Over the next few weeks I will be sharing many images from Antarctica. It s my hope that as you view these images, you will not only be as amazed as I was but that you will add your voice to mine as I reach out to the world community to protect this place. Global warming, much of it caused by humans, is having an impact on the Antarctica, like no where else. Some of the effects have not been seen yet but are present. It is already causing problems with the food sources for many of the wildlife in the Antarctica. As a photographer, I believe I can make my voice heard through images and words and help people to understand how important it is to protect the Antarctica.

For now, here is the tail of a beautiful Humpback Whale.

Image from July 26

What an incredible day! Our Kenai Fjords Cruise today was just amazing! We saw Seals, Sea Lions, Puffins, Porpoises, Bald Eagles, incredible glaciers and this guy, a 35 to 40 foot, 35,000 + pound North Pacific Humpback Whale!

Photographed in Aialiik Bay, Alaska.
