Before meeting a friend for lunch today, I wandered along an alley near Ottawa Street in Hamilton. I love to look for unique and different abstracts in some of the older and worn out buildings which back on to alleys.
Burlington, Ontario has some really nice, old houses, many of which have been converted to places of business, especially in the downtown area. This is one such house and I just love the front entrance! The mixture of stone and wrought iron coupled with the gorgeous trees and plants just makes for a beautiful setting!
Happy Canada Day to all my friends and family back home in Canada! I cannot be there to celebrate but I hope you are all having a wonderful day!
The other day when I was wandering around in Sydney and doing what I do best, which is wandering down back alleys and such, I came across this interesting area of older homes very close together and seemingly haphazardly thrown together. Anyways I loved this set of stairs with these potted plants growing all over them.
This is a shot from my wanderings around Sydney last weekend. I was down near The Rocks area and happened by this set of steps with wrought iron railing on one side and a stone wall on the other. I love the shadows on the steps and the leftover autumn leaves.
Today was a crazy busy day as I get prepped for 2 days of travel for work. So needless to say my image today is yet another from my trip to Ireland a few weeks back. As I mentioned in previous posts the fabulous ruins that are scattered everywhere in Ireland are simply awesome to photograph.
I am in Montreal for a couple of days. After work this evening I went out to a restaurant and afterwards was going to head downtown. However it started to rain and I simply did not feel like battling Montreal traffic in the rain. I noticed these old stairs and the walking path to them highlighted in yellow and thought it made for an interesting composition.
