Yesterday after work I drove from Sacramento out to Point Reyes National Seashore Park. This is a beautiful area with lots of wildlife including deer, eagles and many other shore birds. I did some hiking and although the stairway to the lighthouse was closed, the views were still wonderful! I have to admit that only having my Point & Shoot with me was a bonus as I did not get any of the “wow! Nice camera..you must be able to take great pictures with it” to “Are you a magazine photographer?” and then the funniest of all “my P&S is not working, can you fix it? LOL!
After 3,400 km’s of driving the South Island of New Zealand, our vacation is coming to an end. Tomorrow we fly for pretty much 24 hours and end up back in Toronto the same day! It was a wonderful vacation and the hospitality and friendliness of the Kiwi people was wonderful! New Zealand is a land of stunning and majestic mountains, fjords, valleys and seascapes. The rugged beauty of the coast is simply breath-taking!
We drove into Kaka Point, on the south east side of New Zealand late this afternoon. We planned on staying in Kaka Point but wanted to check out a near by lighthouse in Nugget Point. This is a stunning spot and i can’t wait for sunrise tomorrow morning!
Before going to dinner this evening we drove into Myrtle Beach State Park and walked out along the boardwalk. The wind was blowing pretty strong, but with the long exposure the ocean seems almost calm! This is a shot of Myrtle Beach from the boardwalk.
What an incredible day! Our Kenai Fjords Cruise today was just amazing! We saw Seals, Sea Lions, Puffins, Porpoises, Bald Eagles, incredible glaciers and this guy, a 35 to 40 foot, 35,000 + pound North Pacific Humpback Whale!
