I spent a couple of hours at Grindstone Marsh this afternoon. It was a beautiful day and many birds were about. The wind would pick up and the birds would be floating about in the sky. This Grey Heron got himself a Catfish and was struggling to carry it around.
Late this afternoon I met up with fellow Hamilton photographer Dan Copeland who had told me about some White Egrets and Grey Herons hanging around Confederation Park here in Hamilton. I met up with Dan and we photographed the birds for a while. They were doing quite a bit of fishing and once in a while they did manage to get lucky!
Continuing on with images from my recent safari to South Africa, here is a shot of a Grey Heron watching the proceedings going on below him. I had rented a 500mm lens for the trip and while I certainly did not need it for the animals, it came in handy for the birds.
