I am in Lakeland, Florida for a day and after dinner this evening I drove by this huge church near Interstate 4. The sky was interesting so I just had to drive in and try a few angles. I like this one the best.
I am currently in Germany for a couple of days. This afternoon I had an opportunity to go for a short walk in the village of Bulstringen. There is this amazing old Evangelical church in town. I could not find any historic info on it, but it is very cool!
I am working in Champaign, Illinois for a couple of days, and today I had an opportunity to go for a walk through this pleasant city’s downtown. Big, dark clouds moved in looking to rain on my parade, but stayed away. This is a shot of the United Methodist church.
After quantities of coffee this morning we headed out for a drive. I picked some back roads and found some abandoned barns and a pretty church. The sky was full of big clouds which added lots of drama to the images. At lunch we stopped in the town of Kincardine and sat near the lake.
Today is my last day in Ireland. Tomorrow I fly home. My last day was as stunning as the previous days. And old train station, a church that looks as if it belongs in Middle Earth. And to top off our day, a rather dangerous hike down to The Breeches Arch and a sunset that made it all worthwhile!
It was an incredible photographic journey and I have lots of images to share in the future! For now I will leave you with these.
The demolition of part of the old James Street Baptist Church has begun. Back in late 2012 new owners purchased the church and said it was structurally unsafe. It would need in excess of $2 million dollars to fix it. This church was built between 1878 and 1882. The back two thirds of the building will be torn down. They will keep the front facade and the east tower. An $80 million dollar condo development is scheduled to replace the rest.
