Life Through The Lens – Part III – March 3 Image

A beautiful day today and I was out wandering around. Went for a nice long walk around Bayfront Park in Hamilton. Much of the ice in the inner bays is gone or breaking up. Lots of gulls about looking for the ever elusive fish.

And the penguin onslaught continues! 🙂

Since January has almost come to an end, I will be changing up the theme for February. In addition my test of sharing images and having a chance to win a free print failed miserably so that piece will be discontinued from now on.

February’s theme will be “One Camera…One Lens”. For the month of February I will be shooting with my Canon M10 Mirrorless camera with a 15mm to 45mm lens on it.

Of the 4 different species of penguins we saw in our recent trip, I think these guys, the Rock Hoppers, were my favourite. They are so comical! And very noisy!

“How you doing?”

Something a bit different today. Perhaps a bit more abstract or artsy. I like it!

King Penguins on the move, Falkland Islands

Wildlife and Ice month continues as I feature many images from my recent trip to The Falkland Islands.

When Gentoo Penguins come out of the water and head to land, they literally “explode” out of the water, flying through the air and landing on the beach. This action is not easy to capture as it is quite difficult to see them until the last second. It was funny with all of the photographers waiting to capture these moments, it sounded like Penguin Paparazzi when these guys came out of the water!
