Give It A Push

“hurry up Frank…push it harder. The humans are watching us. You know how they are…pointing those funny things at us and pressing buttons. Makes them happy when we put on a show. And you know Frank…happy humans taste better!”

Happy 150th Birthday Canada!

Several years ago I started a project I called “Imagine”. The purpose of this project was to entice Canadians to see more of Canada by showing them images of some of the beautiful places in Canada and asking them to “Imagine” what it would be like if they were standing in that spot. I have always thought that so many Canadians tend to travel to the Caribbean, or to Mexico or the US instead of staying here in our incredibly beautiful county. There is so much to see and do in this country and yet so few Canadians actually “see” it.

In celebration of Canada’s 150th birthday I have put together a video of images I have taken across Canada. I hope you enjoy these images and that you can visit some of the stunning places that these images come from.

Favourite Images of 2016

As 2016 approaches its end, I am taking a few minutes to reflect back on the year. From a personal perspective, it was a crazy busy year. 108 flights for business travel and 10 for personal. I was away from home more than 80% of the year. From a photography perspective, I did one amazing trip to the Yukon Territory in Canada’s north. I met up with some photography friends and I made some new ones as well. Other than that and a whirlwind tour to Austria, my photography took a back seat in 2016. I think I may have taken more images with my iPhone(s) than with any of my DSLR’s.

I have many reasons to be grateful and happy in life and one of them is my amazing and patient wife! She has always supported me in my endeavours and is always there for me.

There are 2 photographers I would like to say thank you too in 2016. These 2 guys have become not only friends, but guys that I am excited to see what amazing images they have have created every time they post! Dave Brosha and Paul Zizka are such amazing and talented photographers! I urge you to check out their work!

I am looking forward to an exciting 2017 as I have 2 major photography trips planned! One with the guys mentioned above and another with my lovely wife!

I have put together a short slideshow of my favourite images of 2016. Please feel free to share!

I would like to wish you all a very Happy New Year! Be safe and enjoy life!

Poppa Bear

This was the first bear I saw after arriving into the Yukon. He was on the side of the road about 1 hour outside of Whitehorse. He was meandering along the side of the road chomping on dandelions and other weeds. He could not have cared less about us.

Alaska…and so it ends

It has been an amazing week in Alaska, but like all things, it must come to an end. My thanks to Lisa Langell for the wonderful week of photography here in Alaska. Here is another shot from yesterday. I love the contrast between predator and scavenger, big and small. Enjoy!

More images coming soon!
