This afternoon I drove up to Torrance Barrens in the Muskoka region of central Ontario. Torrance Barrens is known as a Dark Sky Preserve. It has a unique combination of little or no light pollution and rock types that seems to make the sky darker. In addition tonight was a moonless night and perfectly clear.

Hi there, you said you went there on the 22nd?
I am interested in going this weekend, and was wondering if it would still be open. Most national parks closed October 14th.
Also, is there an entry fee, or registration area, or do you pretty much walk in, and photograph away?
Thanks
This park is open 24 / 7 / 365
There is no fee.
Enjoy!
