Life Through The Lens – Part II – July 31 Image

This evening I headed down to Cootes Bay in Hamilton. I was hoping with the clouds that sunset would be great. But that did not pan out. However the sun through the clouds about 1/2 hour before sunset was spectacular!

Today I had to run into Toronto for an appointment. As I was walking back to the parking deck I stopped at a small park for a few minutes to enjoy the beautiful day and the sounds and scenes of a big city.

This morning on my walk up to my coffee shop, I passed by this house where it always seems they have something for sale. Today was this old axle / hitch combo. At lunch I headed off to Grindstone Marsh to see what was going on. I guess most of the birds were off on siestas but this turtle was enjoying the sun and keeping a watch.

This afternoon I walked up to Mohawk Ford to pick my truck up after it had been in for repair. On the walk up I noticed this dentist office with a very pretty front entrance.

Today we drove up to friends outside of Orillia, Ontario to take part in their annual summer picnic and movie night for the kids. The weather held off and the humidity wasn’t bad either. I wandered around their huge backyard and took a few shots of some of the wildflowers.

Another beautiful day here in Montreal! On the way back from the job site this afternoon I took a detour and drove into old Montreal. I wandered around for a few minutes. The flowers are beautiful!

Tonight I was able to figure out how to get down to the park along the edge of the Saint-Laurent river here in Longueuil, Quebec. And once again the sunset did not disappoint! WOW!

This image is of the world’s tallest inclined tower at 175 meters. This tower is part of Montreal’s Olympic Stadium, which hosted the 1976 Summer Games. The stadium was one of the first of its kind with a retractable roof which was to be opened and closed by the tower. However neither the tower nor the stadium were completed in time for the opening of the 1976 games. The retractable roof was added at a later date. Huge costs and structural problems have contributed to the stadium being a white elephant. There are no major tenants in the building and it is now only used for concerts and such.
